Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of October 04, 2000

Abstract

Jim Morrison, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. The Charter and Bylaws Committee answered questions pertaining to committee reports, Senate policy, and the Ohio Open meetings Law. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported James Morrison was elected to serve as chair, Thomas Shipka as vice chair, and the following were elected to serve on the Charter and Bylaws Committee : Kathylynn Feld, John Murphy, and Ikram Khawaja. Academic Standards Committee reported it began discussing certificates and certificate programs offered at YSU . Academic Programs reported it drafted a form for proposing academic minors. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee reported it is withdrawing the motion that was attached to the agenda for the October meeting. The General Education Committee reported it is beginning to review syllabi for the general education area and that it is still looking for intensive and capstone submission from some departments.
