dc.description.abstract	Jim Morrison, chair of the Academic Senate, presided. Nominations were held for chair of the Senate and members of the Charter and Bylaws Committee. The Senate Executive Committee reported on faculty appointments to standing committees, the creation of a standing committee on Global Awareness. The General Education Committee reported on adopting a course-flow procedure (this motion was tabled) and on changing the language for the general education "intensive" courses (motion carried). An informational report was given on the University Distance-Learning Review Committee.
