dc.description.abstract	Senate Chairperson, Chet Cooper, presided. Pending Senate approval, Dr. David Porter will be appointed Parliamentarian. The Senate Executive Committee reported the selection of Dr. Cynthia Anderson as the next YSU president. Dr. Julia Gergits will be stepping down as coordinator of General Education. The definition of "Urban Research University" is discussed. The Ohio Faculty Council meeting discussed changes to the State Teacher Retirement System. The Elections and Balloting Committee sent out nominations for departmental senators. Undergraduate Curriculum Committee approved a list of course changes. The General Education Committee reported that it is considering to allow General Education credit to be given for certain military experience. The Academic Research Committee reported it is still working on a one-page definition of Urban Research University.
