Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of March 07, 2012

Abstract

Senate Chairperson Chet Cooper presided. Nancy Wolfgang reported from the Ohio Faculty Council with discussion regarding the new funding and counting of incoming freshman and that Cleveland State and the University of Cincinnati are discussing merit based funding. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported elections needed to be taken. The Academic Standards Committee discussed a proposal to remove the foreign language requirements from BS degrees awarded from the STEM college. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee reported it processed 136 proposals and 118 this semester and requested those filling out forms to carefully follow directions to avoid errors. The General Education Committee reported on approved general education courses. The Academic Events Committee nominated 11 people for next years list for mace bearer.
