dc.description.abstract	Presented are the minutes of the 188th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on December 15, 1997. This was a regular meeting. During the course of the meeting, the oath of office was administered to newly-appointed student trustee David N. Myhal. President Cochran reported on the success of grant activity. Committee reports followed. The Board resolved to: extend appreciation to the Penguin football team and Coach Jim Tressel for a championship season; to convert the academic calendar to a semester system effective Fall 2000; to award an honorary degree to Thomas Bopp; to revise capital development priorities; to accept gifts; to ratify faculty/staff appointments; and to approve policy creation, modification, and recision (sic).	en_US
