June 26, 1998: Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 191st meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on June 26, 1998. This was a regular meeting. President Cochran reported on the semester conversion (Q2S) project, capital projects, the University Scholars Program, the College of Education Showcase, and the Tuition Monthly Payment Plan. Committee reports followed. The Board resolved to: extent appreciation to outgoing student trustee AnneMarie McCollum; to award honorary degrees upon John R. Cole and Sam A. Covelli; to modify or create policies; to change the bylaws of the University Senate; to extend appreciation to for leadership in the NCAA Self-Study Steering Committee; to modify student fees, to modify University policies; to establish Mutual Aid between YSU Police and the Youngstown Police Department; to accept gifts; to extend appreciation for leadership in the NCAA Certification Process; to ratify faculty/staff appointments; to adopt a tax-deferred payroll plan to purchase STRS/PERS retirement credit; and to confer emeritus status.
