Academic Senate Meeting Minutes of October 01, 2014

Abstract

Senate Vice-Chairperson Mike Crist presided. President Tressel went over the process of searching for a provost and his selection of Dr. Martin Abraham as Interim Provost. Discussion that followed largely centered on the issue of shared governance. President Tressel then went over retention and recruitment. The Academic Program Committee announced Loren Lease would now be the chairperson for the committee. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee reported on course approvals and the objection of ART 3770 to be reviewed. In New Business, there was concern about the Academic Standards Committee being chaired by a student. Discussion was postponed until Chet Cooper could speak on the issue.
