Chet Cooper, Senate Chair, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported the Senate Program Review Committee formed and there was a resolution passed honoring Ashley Orr and her being recognized as a Rhodes Scholar. Dr. Sal Sanders addressed the Senate and announced Responsible Conduct of Research or IRB training will be required for all graduate faculty members, Masters of Accounting, Interdisciplinary Visual Arts and Athletic Training have been proposed and are expected to be approved, Accelerated 4+1 Programs are offered for Economics and Mathematics, all thesis and dissertation will be required to run through iTheticate, Ellucian Recruiter is a system to help with recruitment and application review, and there has been a 74% increase in graduate programs over the last 20 years. The Academic Programs Committee reported approved programs. The Academic Standards Committee reported on changes to the policies governing the admission of dual enrolled students. Motion was passed. The General Education Committee proposed the First Year Experience Program. The proposal will be revisited in the Spring. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee reported on approved courses and changes. |
