Thompson received an award for his work on the City of You campaign. YSU works toward tuition guarantee program to help increase revenue. The 17th annual LGBTQ+ History Month began October 1. YSU women's bowling coach Chelsea Gilliam is fighting breast cancer. Students who receive too many parking citations at YSU are in danger of having their diplomas or grades withheld. The YSU department of communications will host the 8th fundraising Halloween party at the Inner Circle on October 26. Music is part of the atmosphere at Stone Fruit Coffee. YSU's Penguin Hackers group is in a transitional phase since the founder of the group, Joe Duncko, graduated. Wickyard is a non-profit music venue located at the previous McVean Funeral Home building on Wick Avenue. The YSU fooball team hopes to end its two-game skid when they go to Cedar Falls Iowa to take on the University of Northern Iowa.
