A scarlet oak tree was planted in honor of Dr. Ray Beiersdorfer, professor of geological and environmental sciences, who died Oct. 11. West Side Cats, a nonprofit, no kill rescue and adoption facility, is featured. The Youngstown Press Club held their first event, "History of Media in the Mahoning Valley," with guest speaker, Bill Lawson. The Penguin Athletic Training Students Club at YSU adopted the Night Lights Program which provides students at East High School a meal before their game. Students are participating in National Novel Writing Month in November by writing a novel. Police investigated a report of students receiving instructions on how to build a nuclear bomb. The Whiskey Hollow band from Cleveland headlined The Penguin Production's latest Concert Series event. History of Thanksgiving is given. Postcard art from area high schools are on display in Bliss Hall. YSU celebrates Dia De Los Muertos. Seniors strap on helmets for the last game of the season. YSU women's basketball team is off to a hot start. The men's basketball team get their first win over Heidelberg. |
