The YSU men and women's track and field team held a Mid-Major Invitational at the Watson and Tressel Training Site and won 11 events. RJ Thompson has been awarded the Governor's Award through the state of Ohio for his development of the "City of You" project. Advise is given on what to consider when considering graduate school. From Canada to the US, Professors Patrick Durrell and his wife Katherine Durrell, earn citizenship. The Pella Penguins are featured. English professor and former Dean of Women, Eleanor B. North's legacy at Youngstown College is highlighted. YSU's Dana School of Music was featured for "America the Beautiful" for the pregame ceremony of Super Bowl LIII. Some of the oldest books in Maag Library were featured on exhibit. John Feldmeier, interim director of the Ward Beecher Planetarium and astronomy professor at YSU, and Curt Spivey, planetarium engineer, gave tips for those interested in getting into astronomy. Local drag racers, Martino Motorsports, bring the National Drag Racing Association championship to Youngstown. Olivia Jones was awarded the title of Nike Women's Field Athlete of the Week in the Horizon League. Women's basketball team hit the road for a two game trip. |
