Academic Deans Council Minutes : September 20, 2006

Abstract

The 25th Anniversary Williamson Symposium will be September 28. The Maag Library Constitution day event had a relatively small turnout but Paul Sracic gave an excellent speech. The YSU Fine & Performing Arts brochures have been sent out. Clarification on the faculty overload situation was discussed. The committee to review the summer budget would like to evaluate only the cost directly associated with summer classes. Changes will be made to the Metro College. Dr. Herbert asked the Deans to share with the chairs that the focus of the strategic planning process should be on the end product, which is the Academic Affairs Strategic Plan. The first Question and Answer Academic Review and Planning Process assessment meeting was held. The Provost's office will host a diversity luncheon, "Diversity in Higher Education," on October 25. Rollover funds from 2005-06 will be retained in a restricted account. The Chairperson's Retreat at Punderson will be held tomorrow.
