dc.description.abstract Atty. Kravitz stated the sexual misconduct policy was updated, and she provided two sets of brochures for council members. Atty. Kravitz also stated YSU received erroneous information from its immigration attorney. U.S. regulations state that faculty and PA positions must be posted for 30 days and YSU cannot hire an individual within the 30-day posting requirement. Associate Vice President Howard distributed information about the student complaint system. A discussion arose about what should be documented as a complaint and allowing students to file their complaints directly in the online system. Joseph Mistovich, chairperson of Health Professions, distributed a handout describing the proposed Master of Health Informatics and gave a short presentation. Ms. Verdone stated she was at Deans Council to follow up and complete the discussion started in September on the Student Transfer Credit Evaluation. Council recommended Option 2 for the student transfer credit evaluation process. Associate Provost Myers distributed a handout which outlines the International Pathway Program. Operations and Closing during winter holidays were discussed. Associate Provost Pintar asked the deans to have the chairs review the part-time evaluation forms. The forms needed to be completed and returned for HLC compliance. Dr. Pintar recently asked Institutional Research to run a report on courses with field experiences, and YSU had at the time 100 courses indicating this component. Associate Vice President Hripko reported the primary change in the Guidebook Policy on research, grants, and sponsored programs was to allow the Director of Grants to have the institutional signature authority on grants. The Provost asked Council if they wanted to nominate new individuals to be on the Part-time Faculty Committee which was established last year. Membership of the YES committee was modified to include a dean. Provost Abraham stated that concerns had arisen about a new student travel policy approved in September. The Student Travel Committee was to reconvene to listen to the issues and to fine-tune the policy so the concerns are addressed. Fall 2017 course fees and carry-forwards were being finalized. Research Professorship applications were due October 23. The Research dinner was set to take place November 2. The U.S. Department of Economic Development awarded a $2 million grant to YSU to help create the Mahoning Valley Innovation and Commercialization Center in downtown Youngstown. The Tiger Grant has been submitted. The Wick Avenue dedication was scheduled for October 28. en_US
