Abstract

Various services were offered at the Remote Area Medical health care clinics at the Covelli Centre September 21 and 22. YSUnity, YSU's LGBTQ+ student organization, is absent on campus this semester, leaving a void in the LGBTQ+ resources across campus. Over 50 Youngstown community members and students joined together protesting climate change at the climate strike rally in Wick Park on Friday September 20. Forty-two years after Black Monday, members of the Youngstown area gathered on September 19 to reflect on history and discuss a hopeful future. The YSU Planetarium showcases new and returning show favorites. A new wave of praise and worship has settled on the ground level of St. John's Episcopal Church. "Welcoming in NE Ohio: Past, Present, Future" was the highlighted topic of discussion at a panel held on September 18 at YSU, bringing light to welcoming immigrants to the community. Country Singer Blake Shelton played to a sold-out crowd at Stambaugh Stadium. The B&O Station and the Boxcar Lounge, located on Mahoning Avenue, held their first Blues, Brew & BBQ Music Festival on Sunday with proceeds going toward Robert Arroyo's medical costs. Maag Library debuts a new concert series called "Music In Maag" featuring a flute duet. YSU Greek Life highlights hazing prevention week. Women's tennis seasons is served up. The YSU football team looks forward to its next opponent in the Robert Morris University Colonials. Women's golf look to repeat last year's success.
