Academic Senate Minutes of September 04, 2019

Abstract

Nominations for Senate Chair 2020 were taken. Chet Cooper was nominated. Nominations for the Charter and Bylaws Committee were also taken. The Senate Executive Committee gave a Senate Orientation Power Point presentation. Committee reports followed. The General Education Committee reported on issues with graduates from community colleges not having enough General Education requirements and the completion of a draft proposal for a pilot program with BSN to RN, and Respiratory Care. Provost Brien Smith addressed the academic senate expressing his appreciation for the senate body and believes that the senate is the backbone for academic affairs. New Business pertained to the Study Abroad Behavioral Covenant and the New Classroom Security Procedure.
