dc.description.abstract Sixteen incoming YSU freshmen have been selected to receive the Gold Bar Scholarship for the Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC). Each was chosen from a large list of applicants and represents a cross section of high school graduates in Northeast Ohio. Each scholarship amounts to $900. A collection of photographs by local photographer/designer Sarah Strouss, entitled “Faces of a City,” will be on display in the Kilcawley Art Gallery from August 5 through August 28. Strouss taught photography at YSU from 1979-1986 and is now in private business. Jeffrey J. Burdge, chairman of the board of Harsco Corporation in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and a former YSU student, will give the address at Summer Commencement on August 29. en_US
