dc.description.abstract Former HEW secretary Joseph Califano spoke as part of the Skeggs Lecture Series. The University community remained concerned about the hostage crisis in Iran. U.S. president Jimmy Carter ordered all foreign students to report to have their visas double-checked for validity. A circus exhibit was to open in Bliss Hall. A lecturer debunked myths about the Navajo and explained that people’s rich culture. Dr. David Ruggles was appointed assistant dean of education. A rally in support of university day care was planned. Handicapped students reorganized into a new group. en_US
