dc.description.abstract Continuous casting of rounds is an economic and efficient process and is standard industrial practice. Mathematical modeling for the continuous casting of slabs is well documented, but similar modeling has not been developed for casting of rounds. In this paper a mathematical model for the solidification of continuous cast rounds is presented. A computer program has been developed that determines the thickness of the solidified layer as a function of time for any diameter round. en_US
