dc.description.abstract YSU is conducting research to study treatment for aliments such as Alzheimer's disease, PTSD and E-coli. Jobs improve, but COVID-19 is still affecting jobs around the Youngstown area. COVID-19 cases more than double on campus. The Youngstown Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5K is October 24 and this year will be the first year the marathon is classified as a Boston Marathon qualifier. Campus honors professor Michael Jerryson with a tree planting ceremony. Parking drives students crazy. The Social Bar & Tapas in Youngstown closed and was boarded up by the city August 27 due to underage drinking and drug violence. Lindsay DeLullo's journey at YSU goes from geology major to art major. Hispanic Heritage Month events return to campus. YSU student Jarrett Walters grows in the music industry. The "Read. RECreate. Reward!" scholarship is a 12-week long program offered by the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center that gives YSU students an opportunity to win a $1,000 reward. YSU's sports nutritionist help athletes make smart food choices for optimum performances. The YSU lacrosse team is looking to grow the program's inaugural season under the direction of second-year head coach Theresa Walton. en_US
