Abstract

The Office of Student Experience is collaborating with the YSU Bookstore, to introduce the Pete Complete Book Program, which would allow students to include the cost of class-required books on tuition bills. A history is given of Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis's family from northeastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania with ties to YSU. The Ohio College Comeback Program at YSU aids former students with financial holds to complete their degree. The philanthropy for the Navarro family is given. Sarah's Ceramics in Austintown is featured. Fall coffee flavors from Stone Fruit Coffee and Pressed Coffee Bar & Eatery are given. The Mobile Market, a 28 ft. long grocery store on wheels, was created to combat Youngstown's food desert. The indie-rock and pop band Sedona is featured. YSU celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with various activities taking place on campus and downtown. Women's soccer continue its stout Horizon League schedule going against Wright State University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. The YSU men's tennis teamed opened its fall season at Western Michigan University's Vredevelt Invitational on Sept. 22 and 23. The YSU women's golf team continued its success at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational as a strong final round finish secured its victory. After defeating Horizon League opponent Oakland University on Sept. 23, fifth-year senior Josi Borum became the only active Division I collegiate volleyball player to reach 1,000 career kills, digs and assists.
