dc.description.abstract A forum for community feedback took place Nov. 2 in the Jones Room of Kilcawley to discuss what YSU students and staff wanted to see for the new Zoldan Family Student Center that will replace Kilcawley. Contracts are switched for janitorial services on campus. Over 800 students, faculty and staff members at YSU use Pete's Points, one of the three meal plans offered at the university. The PERIOD club at YSU raises awareness about menstruation and menstrual health. YSU senior Miah Pierce was the sole Ohio Recipient of the National Association of Secretaries of State John Lewis Leadership Award. YSU community members gathered for a Dia de Muertos celebration on Nov. 1 in The Hub at Kilcawley. The YWCA Mahoning Valley began a collection of donations in October that will run until Dec. 4 for its Wish Upon a Star program.. The men's basketball team bounces back at home. The Penguin football won their first away game of the season against Indiana State University, 19-7. Women's volleyball ends the season at home with an overall record of 9-20. Senior Madyson Marx of the YSU bowling team broke two school records at the SFA Ladyjack Classic hosted by Stephen F. Austin State University. The women's basketball team turns a new leaf after last season's loss in the first round of the 2022-2023 Horizon League tournament. en_US
