The YSU Board of Trustees voted 8-1 to give U.S. Rep. William "Bill" Johnson the position of YSU president on Nov. 21. YSU's Athletic Department is ranked the second largest in Ohio, after The Ohio State University, with 520 student-athletes across the 21 sports programs. YSU received the Early-Concept Grant for Exploratory research from the National Science Foundation to fund research with the State University of New York at Albany into lithium-ion battery recycling. The 10th annual History Across the Humanities conference at YSU Will take place Feb. 22 through 24, 2024 at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor. WYSU spent all of October raising donations for the station's Getting Together Fund Drive, which received $120,000 in donations. YSU's Student Government Association raised over $500 and over 100 meals swipes to combat food insecurity on campus for its annual Swipe Out Hunger Week. Before Thanksgiving break, petitions circulated and protests, were held on campus following the board of trustees' announcement of offering William "Bill" Johnson the position of president at Youngstown State University. Student run businesses for the holidays are featured. The women's basketball team participated in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic. The men's basketball team stays undefeated at home. The YSU football team advance to the second round of the FCS Playoffs. |
