Abstract

Melissa Jackson is named the new women's basketball head coach. YSU will waive application fees for incoming students from Eastern Gateway Community College as part of the university's plan to aid displaced EGCC students. YSU's Center for Judaic and Holocaust Studies hosted an event which featured four Israeli speakers who survived the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks known as Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. Much of the United States, including Ohio, is in the path for an upcoming solar eclipse April 8th. The Buddy Up for Life program at YSU trains athletes with Down syndrome by paring them with volunteer buddies for tennis and fitness conditioning. Mahoning county election officials are encouraging YSU students to vote. YSU's Emerging Leaders Program is featured. Black women and allies at YSU can join a new student group, Melanin Ambitious Divas, or MAD. Sigma Chi's ninth annual Roquacade charity concert will take place March 23 at Penguin City Brewing Company. YSU's women lacrosse begin the Mid-American Conference play after a winless season. The YSU swim and dive team makes a splash in the postseason. The YSU bowling team finished second in its final tournament of the regular season in Smyrna, Tennessee. After a 15-game losing streak, the YSU baseball team secured its first two wins of the season. Since the start of the season in early February, the YSU softball team has played in three tournaments with a 9-6 record.
