December 07, 2023 : Board of Trustees Regular Meeting and Committee Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 394st meeting of the Board of Trustees of Youngstown State University from December 07, 2023 and the committee minutes from December 06, 2023. This was a regular meeting. Interim President Helen Lafferty made remarks acknowledging her special affection for YSU and that this was her last meeting as interim president. Presentations were given by the following : Mary Yacovone (faculty presentation), Hailey Taylor (student presentation), Julie Centofanti and Natalie Dando for the Penguin Pen Pal Initiative (student organization presentation), and Mickael Sopel with Lili Minich (athletics presentation). A report was given by the Audit Subcommittee. Resolutions were passed in the following committees: Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee, Institutional Engagement Committee, Finance and Facilities Committee, University Affairs Committee, Governance Committee and Executive Committee. Memorials to the Board were expressed. In New Business, a Resolution of Appreciation was given for Dr. Helen Lafferty. Chair Peterson gave comments on the Presidential search. Dates for future meetings were approved and meeting was adjourned.
