An anti-LGBTQ+ protest at YSU on Feb. 10 led to a counter demonstration by students that drew police presence outside Kilcawley Center. YSU students, faculty, and staff can expect the return of the Marjorie Hartman Family Foundation Pet Clinic. Noble Creature Wild Ales & Lagers is featured. Justin Bartell, owner of Bartell's Take on Tokyo, offers Tokyo-themed dishes at Penguin City Brewing Co. every Tuesday evening. The Watson and Tressel Training Site continues to provide the public and YSU community with numerous indoor amenities such as golf simulators. YSU's annual Guinathon Dance Marathon takes place on Feb. 22. The evolution of YSU's student media is featured. YSU's Pete the Penguin turned 92-years old, and celebrated with a birthday party Feb. 13 in the lower level arcade of Kilcawley Center. The record "Songs of the Lost World" by The Cure is reviewed. The YSU men's tennis team falls to 6-1 on the season and looks to bounce back as it rounds out its five-game homestand. The YSU track and field teams competed in three meets Feb. 14-15. The men's basketball team improves their record to 12-5 in Horizon League play. The YSU women's basketball team ends their game against Wright State University in overtime. The YSU baseball team had a rough start to the season as it opened in Waco, Texas against out-of-conference opponent Baylor University. |
