President Johnson reflected on his first year in office and looks ahead at the future of the university. The official YSU website is getting a redesign from the university web team. The Williamson College of Business Administration is hosting its third annual Shark Tank competition. Ahoora Khakinahad, an Iranian international student, co-found the tech startup, Havenbridge Technologies. The YSU history department is preparing an oral history project covering the life of Kilcawley Center, starting in the 1970s. YSU celebrated the athletic achievements of six alumni with its Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Kilcawley Center, Feb. 15. YSU's Penguin Nights hosted a topical cruise at sea themed event Feb, 21. The Canadian indie rock band The Strumbellas is featured. Penguin City Brewery Co. held its first night market of 2025 on Feb. 20. Softball comes home win-less from the Winthrop Garnet & Gold Tournament. After securing their first victory in over a year, the YSU women's lacrosse team dropped two straight games at home. The men's basketball team trade victories with the University of Wisconsin. YSU women's basketball won back-to-back games against the University of Detroit Mercy and Oakland University. Junior Miriam Frass becomes the first YSU women's swimmer to earn the Horizon League Championships Women's Swimmer of the Meet award. |
