YSU launched a new safety app, PENGUINsafe, to help ensure security for students, staff and faculty. "Presidential Conversations" from the office of YSU President Bill Johnson, will serve as a vessel for transparent and meaningful dialogue across campus and the greater Youngstown community. JPMOrgan Chase bank opened in a new location downtown in the Stambaugh Building almost a year after the Reality Tower explosion. The third-annual Penguin Shark Tank competition took place March 20. YSU based organization, Guin Fit, will host a summit focused on creating professional connections March 27. Oak Hill Collaborative held its e-waste collection drive March 14. Following three tournament wins in the fall semester, YSU women's golf Head Coach Nate Miklos became the winningest coach in program history. YSU's The Bible Talks, a religious organization on campus, held a three-day outreach event on campus March 25-27. The Student Art Association of YSU held its 88th annual Juried Student Art and Design Exhibition awards March 21 at the McDonough Museum of Art. Indie folk band Tophouse is featured. The film "Mickey 17" is reviewed. The YSU bowling team landed in the gutter at the Conference USA Championship at Colonial Lanes in Harahan, Louisiana. Women's lacrosse team dropped a tough 14-13 decision to the University of Akron in its Mid-American Conference opener. The YSU baseball team drops 4-19 overall and 3-4 in the Horizon League. YSU softball will face Mercyhurst University in a doubleheader April 1. Women's soccer kicked off the spring season against Point Park University on March 21. |
