Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the Advance Ohio Higher Education Act into law March 28, giving state government a greater say in what happens on college campuses. The Jambar was awarded the Frank E. Deaner Award for Excellence in Collegiate Journalism, Division A during the Ohio News Media and Collegiate Fellowship Day in Columbus. YSU's new K-9, Barkley, is featured. Nancy Landgraff, professor and department chair of graduate and rehabilitation sciences at YSU, was recently inducted into the National Academies of Practice. YSU will receive over $330,000 in funding from the Ohio Department of Higher Education through the Super Regionally Aligned Priorities and Delivery Skills Program. YSU's Williamson College of Business Administration is entering year 11 of continuing success with the Ohio Export Internship Program. PNC Bank recognizes YSU's student-athletes with the PNC Achievers Award. For the second-consecutive year, the YSU bowling team advanced to the Final Four round of the National Collegiate Women's Bowling Championship. A panorama mural representing Kilcawley Center's legacy will be painted on the campus side of the building during April 7-11. The honorary communications society, Lambda Pi Eta, supports the Penguin Pantry. "A Minecraft Movie" was reviewed. YSU women's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win over the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Track and field invites to the University of Tennessee and Slippery Rock University resulted in double wins. YSU women's golf held a 10-stroke advantage over second-place Bucknell University heading into the final day of the YSU Spring Invitational. After a fourth-place finish at the Jackrabbit Invitational hosted by South Dakota State University, the YSU men's golf team resumed its spring season at the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational in Indianapolis. With the Horizon League loss against Purdue Fort Wayne University, the YSU softball team fell to a 10-28 overall and a 2-7 in conference play. |
