dc.description.abstract While much has changed in the 100 years since the founding of YSU, the vision and the ambitions of the institution's founders and others like them remain alive. YSU psychology professor Stephen Ray Flora argues that drugs are over-used to treat psychological problems and that behavioral therapy is the preferable route.A comprehensive look at university news, events and programs are given. As YSU celebrates its Centennial, The "YSU Magazine" examines the very beginnings of the university -- the YMCA. The Annual Report 2006-07 is given. The model of the Howard Jones sculpture is revealed. Janet E. Del Bene, professor emeritus of chemistry, publishes her 200th scientific paper. YSU business students manage a $250,000 portfolio of stocks, bonds and other funds under a new program developed by the YSU Foundation. YSU's men's basketball team opened the 2007-2008 season with a trip to UCLA. Class notes are given. Dean of Beeghly College of Education, Phil Ginnetti, is featured. en_US
