dc.description.abstract | Representatives of the Ohio Student Association planned to spend the weekend at YSU planning a rally for Columbus to encourage the state government to maintain funding for higher education. Anthropologist Donald J. Johanson, the discoverer of “Lucy,” spoke on the origin of humankind during a lecture in Kilcawley Center. The Newman Center and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Youngstown planned a series of workshops on campus dealing with social issues. The YSU Labor Studies program won acceptance by the University and College Labor Education Association. The problems associated with nuclear waste were discussed in an afternoon lecture. The death of Dr. William Walsh (Management) was announced. Unusual photo prints went on exhibit in the Kilcawley Gallery. | en_US |
