Jim and Ellen Tressel and Frank and Norma Watson gave a joint donation of $250,000 to the student recreation and wellness center fund. Both couples have a long and significant relationship with YSU.

Ground was broken for the 65,000-square-foot Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center. The facility will be the first recreation center at a public university built entirely with private funds.
Maag Library is the first test site for a campus-wide wireless network system. The flexibility of the wireless system will enable students to work outside the confines of traditional computer labs.
The Ward Beecher Planetarium's renovation is made possible by a $750,000 grant from the Ward Beecher and the Florence Simon Beecher Foundations. This is the first renovation since 1986.
The restoration of the "Old Stone Bridge" will allow the YSU community to take a look back at the university's past and rediscover this landmark during the upcoming centennial celebration.
