YSU-OEA initiated legal action against a small number of YSU faculty who refused to join the union or pay the agency fee. Major Larry Calloway took over as the Professor of Military Science in ROTC. Student Council chairperson Cathe Pavlov opposed the “phantom motion” before the Academic Senate which would abolish the Heath & Physical Education requirement.
