dc.description.abstract University officials unveil floor plans and a model of the new High Technology Building (Meshel Hall) to be built on Wick Ave. Parking lots were filled to near-capacity for the first day of classes. The Board of Trustees sign a resolution allowing a bargaining agent to represent the University Police force. A new Honors Degree Program begins. Renovations to Williamson Hall and the bookstore are finished. Due to a Supreme Court stay, students are still required to register for the draft to receive financial aid. Members of Student Government and Student Council met together for orientation and to improve communication between the two groups. Sam Dickey goes over the Program and Activities Council's fall schedule. Head football coach Bill Narduzzi talks about the upcoming game against Western Illinois. Dan Pecchia raves about the possibilities for the football team's passing game. Janice Cafaro writes about the beginning of the soccer season. Tom LaPaze, supervisor for J&L Steel, introduces students to the National Management Association student chapter. en_US
