dc.description.abstract The need for a community college in Youngstown and Mahoning County was discussed at a public hearing. The parking situation on campus forced the Campus Police to begin issuing tickets to illegally-parked vehicles. Two British debaters challenged a pair from YU in the Dana Recital Hall. Student Council President Tom Catheline appointed two students as advisors to the council, psychologist, Leo Graham visited the campus, and military draft deferments for students were a topic of discussion. A labor shortages was predicted for Youngstown, fraternity “rush” season began, the basketball team experienced more defeats, and swim team member Richard Montgomery was highlighted. en_US
