dc.description.abstract Ohio Governor James A. Rhodes visited the YU campus, with plans to turn it into a state-supported institution. R.E. Williams (President of Youngstown Sheet & Tube) and F. Beckett (President of Beckett Aviation) were named to the Board of Trustees. Mrs. Joseph E. (Mary B.) Smith, wife of Dean Joseph E. Smith, was appointed University Registrar, replacing Philip P. Buchanan, who retired. William Livosky was named Director of Admissions. A series of one-act plays was deemed “adequate” in a review by Rodney Woleslagle. The YU basketball team defeated Akron 19-7. en_US
