dc.description.abstract More repairs were needed on Bliss Hall, which was still under construction. Historian and writer Henry Steele Commager was to open the season’s Skeggs Lecture Series with a look at “The American Mind.” Student seats on University committees remained in dispute. The newly-appointed University Librarian, Richard Owen, was interviewed. Kilcawley Center was dedicated. A YSU student served as a summer intern for Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-South Carolina). en_US
