dc.description.abstract | State Senator Harry Meshel put forward a bill to include two faculty and two students on each state university’s board of trustees. YSU-OEA members vote to take no action on the dismissal case of Dr. Bhagwati P.K. Poddar, citing that due process had been served. OEA also planned to seek clarification of what constitutes an “open meeting” of the board. The Cheech and Chong performance on campus went well despite problems with campus security. Student Council member Skip Davis was recommended for censure due to his alleged role in the Cheech and Chong security problem. A lecture by poet Nikki Giovanni was still planned, but a concert by Melanie was canceled due to the ill health suffered by the singer. | en_US |
