dc.description.abstract Don Cherry, popular Columbia recording artist, was booked to appear at the 11th Annual Pete Penguin Ball, at the Idora Ballroom on October 5, 1957. Disneyland was chosen as the theme for Homecoming. Editors were selected for the Horizon and The Jambar. YU enrollment was up 139 students over the previous year, totaling 5,408 students. Both Religion-in-Life (Protestant) and the Newman Club (Roman Catholic) planned receptions. The new University Librarian, George H.G. Jones, initiated a new policy to prevent book theft. New faculty were highlighted, and the University Theatre received a grant from the Ohio Division of Mental Hygiene to produce and present “family plays.” en_US
