dc.description.abstract Lombard Corporation seeks to put the issue of land use to a referendum, through a petition drive. The land in question lies along Wick Avenue, adjacent to Pollock House. Student Council took up the issues of library use, the problem of alcohol abuse on campus, a student honor system, and an overabundance of organizational queen competitions. Eight ROTC cadets received commissions as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army. Mary B. Smith set out on a trip to Europe and was seen off at the airport by President Jones and a delegation of faculty. YU was named a college testing center by the sponsors of the American College Test (ACT). A record number of YU students attended the chaplains’ trip to the United Nations in New York City. The basketball team won two games, but lost three in between semesters. en_US
