dc.description.abstract The YSU branch of the NAACP kicked off a rally in support of the Civil Rights Bill with a letter-writing campaign. The Inter-Fraternity Council also endorsed the legislation. Ruth Yozwiak was elected secretary to the Student Council. Solutions to the parking problem were offered. Graduation was divided into two ceremonies (May and August). The expansion of the University and the construction of a community college were approved by Federal urban renewal officials. “Aspects of Life” was to be the subject of Religious Emphasis Week. Student tax exemptions were studied. Dean of the University Joseph Smith was named “Boss of the Year.” en_US
