President Pugsley presided. Mr. John Boland reported on the Constitution and Bylaw committees. Irwin Cohen gave the report on the Senate Council. The Senate Council has appointed an Ad Hoc Committee on Tutorial and other Remedial Programs. Mr William B. Carson reported on the Athletic COuncil. Thelma Miner reported on the Curriculum Committee with motions passed regarding the curricula and course descriptions for the Technical and COmmunity College, addition of classes and the reorganization of department of Philosophy and Religion. The Committee on Computer Center reported the hiring of Mr. Ronald Jonas as the director of the YSU Computer Center. LaVerne Reilly reported on the Health Committee and its recommendations of having a medical doctor available on campus, having adequate rest facilities for faculty members, and to have any complaint about health or safety hazards be reported to the committee. W. A. Shipman reported on the Council on Teacher Education with the focus this year being on the re-structuring and extension of the Elementary Education Program.
The Academic Affairs committee recommended college credit for students based on the results of the Advance Placement test. President Pugsley remarks on Honors Day, the Authorization for approval of Degrees, the meeting of the Ohio Board of Regents, faculty office space, the Jambar, students rating faculty, tax sheltered annuities, and summer and fall registration. |
