Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of December 07, 1983

Abstract

Chairman Larry Esterly presided. Charter and Bylaws Committee reported on who could be nominated on the committee, the revision of article five of the charter, and referring the admission policy to Academic Standards and Events instead of Student Academic Affairs Committee. The Senate Executive Committee reported on the designation of Dr. Lauren Schroeder to serve as YSU-OEA liaison person with the Academic Senate. Dr. George Beelen reported on the Faculty Advisory Committee. The Curriculum Division reported on curriculum proposals. The Ad Hoc Committee on Unconditional Admission Policy approved of both motions offered by Dean Yozwiak. The Academic Standards and Events Committee reported on "Core curriculum." An informal report was given by the Academic Programs and Curriculum Committee. The Senate moves that the Athletic Director and Administration take every step necessary to insure that no regularly scheduled athletic event be held during final examination week.
