dc.description.abstract	Duane Rost presided as chairman of the Senate. William Jenkins has been elected Chair of the Charter and Bylaws Committee. The Senate Executive Committee reported on changes in the Academic Senate Membership, Membership of Senate Committees, and in Administrative Appointments to Senate Committees. Dr. Ikram Khawaja was one of the three individuals recommended to the President to serve as representative to the Faculty Advisory Committee to the Chancellor. The Academic Standards Committee motioned to adopt a proposed General Area Requirements, to change Social Studies to Social Sciences and Science/Mathematics to Natural Science/ Mathematics, and to change the Humanities Requirement.
