Dr. Rost, Chairman, presided. L. Esterly served as parliamentarian for the meeting. The Senate Executive Committee reported that the provost supported the recommendations from the Academic Programs Division, passed by the Senate, on the future of the Materials Engineering Program and a new ad hoc committee will be formed to address the topics in the realm of holistic health. The Continuing Education Subcommittee reported on its development of a master plan for Continuing Education and on the inconsistency between policy and practice in the organization and sponsorship of non-credit activities and/ or Continuing Education programs. The Computer Services Committee reported on a need to form an Ad Hoc Computer Planning Committee. The Academic Research Committee reported on the research and scholarship day, "Quest '89." The Academic Planning Committee reported and made recommendations to the Administration. Academic Programs and Curriculum Committee reported on various course proposals and course requests. The Student Academic Grievances Subcommittee reported on proposed changes to the Student Code. |
