Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of November 04, 1998

Abstract

Jim Morrison, Chair, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported on what needed to be done to complete elections, snags in the forms for conversion to semesters, what needs to be done in terms of Senate committee structure and charges this year, and the meeting with the Ohio Faculty Council Chancellor. The Charter and Bylaws Committee reported on a proposed change in the Senate Charter to permit elected/appointed committees, and a change in the Bylaws to define the membership and role of the General Education Committee. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported on conducting elections and soliciting nominations for various committees. The Academic Standards Committee discussed the criteria for admissions related to early admissions opportunities and Senate Bill 140 students.
