Academic Senate Minutes Meeting of November 06, 1996

Abstract

Jim Morrison, Chair, presided. The Senate Executive Committee reported on reviewing Senate Committees, fee-reciprocity agreements, and a statement on academic ethics. The Elections and Balloting Committee reported Jim Morrison was re-elected as Senate Chair and David Ruggles elected as vice chair. New members of the Charter and Bylaws Committee include Kathleen Akpom, William Eichenberger and Lowell Satre. Academic Standards Committee reported Charles Singler had been elected chair of the committee. Academic Programs Committee reported Nancy White had been elected chair of the committee and that the committee is resolving issues related to the business proposal. The Curriculum Committee reported Anne York had been elected chair but is pending on her acceptance. Herve Corbe had been elected chair of the Academic Planning Committee. The Integrated Technologies Committee gave an interim report on the Electronic Campus. The University Outreach Committee reported Duane Rost as its chair and on activities occurring at the Metropolitan College. Gary Stanek is elected chair of the Library Committee. Jeremy Mercer reported he was elected chair of the Honors Committee and the committee is working on material to send to the Program Committee. The Academic Events Committee reported it will repeat a survey that was on SOLAR concerning the graduation ceremonies.
