Abstract:
Presented are the minutes of the 152nd meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees. This was a regular meeting. Included are supporting exhibits. During the meeting, the Board went into executive session to discuss the state budgetary crisis. Highlights of the open meeting included: resolutions to approve staff/faculty appointments, to accept gifts to YSU. Presidential, executive, and committee reports followed. The Board further resolved: to extend the ERIP to three YSU employees; to modify the existing YSU-OEA Agreement; to request faculty on leave to relinquish their leaves in light of the financial crisis; to retrench all professional/administrative covered by the YSU-YSU/APAS agreement;
To set fees and academic calendar; to increase the budget for the Forensics Research Laboratory; to adjust the budget for Housing Services; to adopt a records retention schedule; to confer an honorary degree upon J. Phillip Richley; and to explore the creation of a degree program in environmental sciences.
