Senate chairperson, Chet Cooper, presided. President David Sweet spoke to the Senate on transitions within the university from the air conditioning system to the presidency. The Senate Executive Committee encouraged attendance to the Honors Convocation on April 26th. The Academic Standards Committee brought forward three motions: Motion 1 consisted of the completion of Incompletes; Motion 2 F to late withdrawal policy concerning academic dishonesty policy; Motion 3 CHS Alternative Admission Requirements Proposal. All motions were approved by the Senate. The Undergraduate Curriculum Committee reported on a list of approved course changes. The General Education Committee reported it is taking back the recommendation from last meeting regarding credit for military experience since the Ohio Board of Regents is already looking into the issue. The Academic Research Committee moved to approve the document titled, "Youngstown State University: An Urban Research University." The document was approved. In New Business a resolution was passed in support of State Issue 1. |
