October 1, 2010: Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Minutes

Abstract

Presented are the minutes of the 299th meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees. This was a regular meeting. Included are supporting exhibits. Highlights included: resolutions to approve staff/faculty appointments, to accept gifts to YSU. The oath of office was administered to new Trustee Delores Crawford and Student Trustee Ryan A. Meditz. Presidential, executive, and committee reports followed. The Board further resolved: to modify or rescind various policies; to approve a memorandum of understanding between YSU, the Youngstown City Schools, and Eastern Gateway Community College regarding the YSU Early College Transition; to approve a bachelor’s degree in Dance Management and in Dental Hygiene; to approve the creation of the Youngstown State University Research Foundation; to confer an honorary degree upon Chancellor Eric D. Fingerhut; to approve a distinguished service award for exempt classified civil service employees and for exempt professional/administrative staff; to modify the Family Medical Leave Act policy; to approve an early retirement incentive program for staff contributing into OPERS; and to designate annual Non-Violence Week.
