Abstract:
Presented are the minutes of the 173rd meeting of the Youngstown State University Board of Trustees on June 23, 1995. This was a regular meeting. During the meeting, Joseph S. Nohra was sworn in as a trustee. President Cochran reported on the YSU-Butler Institute of American Art Project, new cooperative agreements with several public and private colleges and universities, the Joint City-University Commission, a “penguin proclamation” at Sea World, and the Capital Fund Campaign. He alos introduced his new administrative assistant, Karen Green. Committee reports followed. Resolutions included: the conferral of an honorary degree upon Philip Lader; the ratification of new bylaws for the Academic Senate; the authorization to lease University-owned property; to accept gifts; to ratify faculty/ staff appointments; and to confer emeritus status. The Board then went into executive session to discuss an issue with an employee. Exhibits are included.
